Throughout the project, we will be holding virtual and in-person (when safe/possible) community conversations, meetings, and other events to share information and hear from community members.

This spring, we are working to identify goals, priorities, and needs.

Spring 2020 Community Engagement Activities

Project Overview Webinar

We will be kicking off the community engagement process with a series of webinars (online presentations). During these events, we will provide information about the Cville Plans Together process, provide an overview of the Comprehensive Plan, and describe how the Charlottesville community can stay involved. We will also have a question and answer period.

There will be three opportunities to attend this one-hour event. We will discuss the same materials at each meeting. A recording of each event will be found below, including the Q&A portion of the meeting. You can download the webinar presentation document here.

It will be possible to attend the meeting via phone or via computer/tablet/similar device, and you must register (using the links below) to attend.

Small Group Discussions

We will be holding a series of small-group interactive discussions to engage directly with community members and encourage discussion about community goals and priorities, especially focused on equity and affordability. It will be possible to join these discussions by calling in, or by using the Zoom webinar platform on your phone, computer, tablet, or other device.

You must register in advance to attend a discussion. The same questions will be asked at each session. Space is limited, so we request that you only choose one to attend.

Five options:

  • Thursday, May 21, 6:00-7:15 PM – Completed.
  • Friday, May 22, 12:00-1:15 PM – Completed.
  • Wednesday, May 27, 6:00-7:15 PM – REGISTER HERE

The online survey is a chance to share your input about a variety of topics relevant to the Comprehensive Plan, including the Affordable Housing Strategy.

The survey will be available May 20-June 10. Everyone who completes the survey (and provides their contact information) will be entered in a raffle for one of five $25 Visa gift cards.

Steering Committee Meetings

  • The next Steering Committee meeting is scheduled for June 2, 4:00-6:00 PM. It will be held virtually, via Zoom.
  • This is an open meeting; anyone is welcome to attend. You can register to attend the June 2 meeting by clicking here.
